Mid-Summer challenge

I made a journal page that I am going to post on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.
This week the theme is Mid-Summer.

I created a journal page with my latest Tim Holtz's stamps and crackle paste. I used the paste through a stencil (Tim Holtz).

I created the vintage background with various vintage style stamps from Sheena Douglass (Crafter's companion) and Kaisercraft.
I used Distress Inks to colour the background (I started from a piece of kraft cardstock).

Mixed media canvas with tattered flowers

I love creating mixed media canvases since I attended a class with Finnabair in Stockholm (Sweden).

I created a canvas with an empty space in a center to place a photo.

I used Tim Holtz tattered flowers die and Spellbinders dies to make the leaves. The leaves are covered with embossing powder.

I really love how it turned out, I love making my own paper flowers.
I used Paverpol, it is a kind of a glue that stiffens paper and fabric. Although the flowers were cut from handmade paper, they are very stiff and they don't lie flat on the canvas.

I used Primary Elements pigments from Prima to colour the canvas, it is very shimmery in real life.

Paperartsy - canvas with Jofy stamps

I am showing a new canvas I made with PaperArtsy stamps (JoFi collection).
I really love these stamps.
I am going to submit this for the Artsy Stamps challenge on the Simon Says Stamps blog.

There are many layers on this canvas, I started with Paperartsy stencils and grunge paste, then I added many coats of matte acrylic paint, then I stamped the artsy flowers on smooth watercolor paper and I coloured them with Distress Inks and twinkling H20s.

I really love how it turned out and I have decided to hang it in my craft room.

Wooden panel with die cut flowers

There is a new challenge at Simon Says Stamps (Simon Says die crazy).

I have just finished a home decor projects where I used a lot of die cuts.
I made the flowers with the tattered floral die from Tim Holtz. I used the crackle technique to color the flowers, I painted them with acrylic paint, then I used a crackle medium and painted another layer of acrylic paint. Then, like magic, the crackle started to appear!

The light green leaves have been die cut with a Spellbinders die, then I covered the die cut leaves with embossing powder. The other leaves have been stamped and cut manually, then I covered them with embossing powder or distress stickles.
The large butterfly is a Hero Arts digi stamp.

This wooden panel has been decorated on both sides, I will share the other side later this week.

Spring flowers

I created a large tag with Jofy stamps from Paperartsy, Tim Holtz stamps (butterfly) and grunge paste coloured with inks and watered down acrylic paint.
For the dimensional leaves in the background I used an Eclectica stencil from Paperartsy. I applied some grunge paste (Paperartsy) and I started colouring the background with several layers of fluid acrylic paint and archival inks.

The flowers are coloured with Distress Inks. The ribbon is from Papertrey.

Art tag: secret garden

I am joining the Simon Says Stamps challenge inspired by number 5.

I created a large tag from Prima Marketing  (the background is printed), I used a new stencil from PaperArsty with 5 poppy buds. The leaves are from another PaperArtsy stencil (Ecletica collection).

I used acrylic paint with a dry make up sponge. I added stamped butterflies and a die cut bird from Tim Holtz alterations. The hummingbird is a multi-stamp from Kitchen Sink stamps.

Journal page with patterned paper.

I have been working on some art journal pages.
This is a vintage art journal page. For the background I used Tim Holtz patterned paper and the pens are cut out for Graphic 45 pattered paper.
I used Distress inks to create a vintage feeling. I used some die cut letters, I coloured with metallic inks and I covered them with a thick layer of Glossy accents.

I am going to share this on the Simon Says Stamps blog (Work it out April) and on the Balzer Designs blog (Art Journal every day).
