Gelli prints with stencils

I made some gelli plate prints with stencils, then I added some more texture by using  stencils and black paint on the final gelli plate print.
I was inspired by the post PaperArtsy published yesterday,  I followed some of the techniques, then I added my own twist to them. If you like stencils, check the Paperarsty blog post.

Then, I decided to turn the gelli prints into a collage and I added a motivational quote.

This is the final result.

Autumn journal page

Some weeks ago, I made a journal page to celebrate autumn.
I used patterned paper, Tim Holtz dies (letters) and a stamp from Impression Obsession. I coloured the image with watercolours.

Christmas postcard

This year I have tried something different and I have made some watercoloured Christmas cards.
I used a watercolor paper postcard from Fabriano.
I masked the edges and I stamped it with Flourishes Stamps (retired). Then, I watercoloured the images with Winsor and Newton watercolours. I stamped the pine leaves with Distress Inks.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I embossed it with gold embossing powder.

I added a bit of bling by spritzing pearlized water on the postcard, it created a snow effect that is difficult to show in the photo.

Botanical journal page

I made a journal page with a botanical stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stampers anonymous.
I really love it.
I used many different techniques, I inked the feathers with distress ink and I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I coloured and stamped the bird and the eggs with distress markers to achieve a more natural look.

The background has been coloured with many different shades of Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals (powdered pigment).

I will post this on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog.

Watercolour study 2

I made another little painting for my art journal.
I used the same technique I explained in this post. Distress Inks and a poppy stamp as a guide.

I will enter this in the new challenge issue by Simon Says Stamp (Use watercolors).

To give a bit of sparkle and texture to the center of the poppy i used Stickles (glitter glue).

Watercolour study

I enrolled in the Watercolor class offered by Online card classes.
I learned some cool techniques and I made a few watercoloured pages for my art journal.

I watercoloured this page with Distress Inks. I didn't draw the flowers free hand but I used a Hero Art stamp as a guide.
This technique was taught by Dawn, the owner and designer of Wplus9 stamps.

I will enter this in the "Use watercolor" challenge issued by Simon Says Stamp.

New challenge: stencils and stamps

I have another project for the current Simon Says Stamp challenge: stencils and stamps.

I created the background with crackle paste and a Tim Holtz stencil (rays - my most used stencil!!!).

I stamped a few nature-themed stamps by Stamper's Anonymous and Tim Holtz.

I used Distress Stickles and Rock Candy stickles on some of the stamped images.  The sentiment is from an old set (Tim Holtz), it's the clear smaller version instead of the rubber version (bigger sentiment).

Stencils and stamps

It's time for a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp. STENCILS AND STAMPS!!! I love it!!!

I have a tag I made with a Tim Holtz's stencil (rays) and  Darkroom Door stamps (London-themed). I also altered  a piece of white ribbon with Distress Inks and I stamped on it with Archival Inks.

Rock the techniques

Rock the techniques! This is the new challenge at Simon Says Stamps and I LOVE playing with stamping techniques.

I created this card by using the Bohek techniques explained by Dawn from Wplus9 (video).

For the background I used watercolours, pigment ink, Designs by Ryn stamps.

The butterfly stamp is from Hero Arts, I coloured it with Distress Inks and I covered it with Glossy Accents.

The spiral stamps have been embossed with Ranger Gold embossing powder to create extra texture.
The dots for the bohek techniques have been created with Paperartsy stencils.

I made my own background with Lindy's stamp gang magicals (pigment powder+mica), Design by Ryn stamps and Paperartsy stencils.

I used the bohek technique explained in this video by Wplus9.

I used silver embossing powder to give some texture to the spirals.

The new challenge at Simon Say Stamp is "make your own background".

Big butterfly

I made a card with some bold stamps. For the background I Distress Inks, then I sprayed some pearlized water made with Perfect Pearls. I stamped a large Penny Black background stamp with Archival Ink.
Then, I stamped the sundial stamp from Penny Black on book paper coloured with Luminarte Primary elements.
The big butterfly is from Sheena Douglass /Crafter's Companion, it consists on two stamps, the second butterfly was stamped with versamark and embossed with embossing powder on top of the first butterfly (coloured with Luminarte Primary elements).

I am going to post this on the new Simon Says Stamp challenge:

Boldly go into STAMPtember!

Altered notebook cover

I had a notebook with a black cover and it was too plain for me.
So, I took some patterned paper, I die cut some cogs and altered them with paints, embossing powders (the smallest ones have been cut out from shrink plastic and I shrinked them with my heat gun). Then, I applied some metallic Distress Paint and I sprayed it with water. I sealed the altered patterned paper with matte gel.

I will link this project to the the "all scratched up" challenge on the Simon Says Stamp blog.

I will use this notebook for my calligraphy samples.

The feather has been stamped with distress inks and clear embossed. The background has been created with stamped stencils (with Distress inks and water).

I will link this to the "all scratched up" challenge on the Simon Says Stamp blog.

Mixed media canvas - blue challenge

I made a mixed media canvas with many die cut leaves and flowers. I used the Tattered floral die to cut the blue flower, I recycled some gelli prints and I like how it turned out.
The butterfly is from Hero Arts and it has been coloured with Copic markers.
For the background, I used gesso, die cut leaves and sprays (Luminarte Primary Elements).

The space in the middle has been left empty so I can add a photo, but I haven't decided yet.

I am going to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday challenge.

I have a card for the Work it Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp. The challenge is to use blue color in a project or card.

I made a card with Tim Holtz's stamps and stencils (I used Dreamweaver crackle past through the stencil). I used Distress Stickles to create more texture on the stamped nest.
I coloured the blue background with my own mist made with Perfect pearls and watercolor.

I like how it turned out.

Mid-Summer challenge

I made a journal page that I am going to post on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog.
This week the theme is Mid-Summer.

I created a journal page with my latest Tim Holtz's stamps and crackle paste. I used the paste through a stencil (Tim Holtz).

I created the vintage background with various vintage style stamps from Sheena Douglass (Crafter's companion) and Kaisercraft.
I used Distress Inks to colour the background (I started from a piece of kraft cardstock).

Mixed media canvas with tattered flowers

I love creating mixed media canvases since I attended a class with Finnabair in Stockholm (Sweden).

I created a canvas with an empty space in a center to place a photo.

I used Tim Holtz tattered flowers die and Spellbinders dies to make the leaves. The leaves are covered with embossing powder.

I really love how it turned out, I love making my own paper flowers.
I used Paverpol, it is a kind of a glue that stiffens paper and fabric. Although the flowers were cut from handmade paper, they are very stiff and they don't lie flat on the canvas.

I used Primary Elements pigments from Prima to colour the canvas, it is very shimmery in real life.

Paperartsy - canvas with Jofy stamps

I am showing a new canvas I made with PaperArtsy stamps (JoFi collection).
I really love these stamps.
I am going to submit this for the Artsy Stamps challenge on the Simon Says Stamps blog.

There are many layers on this canvas, I started with Paperartsy stencils and grunge paste, then I added many coats of matte acrylic paint, then I stamped the artsy flowers on smooth watercolor paper and I coloured them with Distress Inks and twinkling H20s.

I really love how it turned out and I have decided to hang it in my craft room.

Wooden panel with die cut flowers

There is a new challenge at Simon Says Stamps (Simon Says die crazy).

I have just finished a home decor projects where I used a lot of die cuts.
I made the flowers with the tattered floral die from Tim Holtz. I used the crackle technique to color the flowers, I painted them with acrylic paint, then I used a crackle medium and painted another layer of acrylic paint. Then, like magic, the crackle started to appear!

The light green leaves have been die cut with a Spellbinders die, then I covered the die cut leaves with embossing powder. The other leaves have been stamped and cut manually, then I covered them with embossing powder or distress stickles.
The large butterfly is a Hero Arts digi stamp.

This wooden panel has been decorated on both sides, I will share the other side later this week.

I created a large tag with Jofy stamps from Paperartsy, Tim Holtz stamps (butterfly) and grunge paste coloured with inks and watered down acrylic paint.
For the dimensional leaves in the background I used an Eclectica stencil from Paperartsy. I applied some grunge paste (Paperartsy) and I started colouring the background with several layers of fluid acrylic paint and archival inks.

The flowers are coloured with Distress Inks. The ribbon is from Papertrey.

I am joining the Simon Says Stamps challenge inspired by number 5.

I created a large tag from Prima Marketing  (the background is printed), I used a new stencil from PaperArsty with 5 poppy buds. The leaves are from another PaperArtsy stencil (Ecletica collection).

I used acrylic paint with a dry make up sponge. I added stamped butterflies and a die cut bird from Tim Holtz alterations. The hummingbird is a multi-stamp from Kitchen Sink stamps.

Journal page with patterned paper.

I have been working on some art journal pages.
This is a vintage art journal page. For the background I used Tim Holtz patterned paper and the pens are cut out for Graphic 45 pattered paper.
I used Distress inks to create a vintage feeling. I used some die cut letters, I coloured with metallic inks and I covered them with a thick layer of Glossy accents.

I am going to share this on the Simon Says Stamps blog (Work it out April) and on the Balzer Designs blog (Art Journal every day).

A page from my Art Journal

In this page I used a lot of inks (mainly Dylusions), a Balzer Designs stencil and modelling paste.

I chose a quote from Pinterest and I stamped it with my alphabet stamps.
I coloured the modelling paste with Viva Decor wax paste.

wedding card

I return after a long creative block with a wedding card I made for a friend.
I used Walzingmouse Stamps (leaves and flowers) and Papertrey stamps (sentiment and flourish).

Since I had a huge creative block, I cased this card. My inspiration came from THIS card made by Laurie Schmidlin.

I am going to enter this card for the current Simon Says Stamps challenge (Monday challenge).

Art journal + quote

I found a quote on Pinterest and I wanted to create a journal page with it.
I used some scrap cardstock coloured with Twinkling H20s.

Blue and green mixed media canvas

I made a mixed media canvas for a friend who attended a Finnabair's (Anna Dobrowska) workshop with me in Sweden.

We really liked the techniques Finnabair tought in the class and we created many mixed media canvases last year.

In this canvas, I used a lot of embellishments I collected during the past years.
I cannot explain in details the techniques because Finnabair teaches them in person during her workshops.

This time, instead of colouring the canvas with Luminarte Primary Elements, I used Dylusion sprays and Viva Decor wax.

I stamped the quote with an alphabet stamp set. I coloured the background paper with Dylusion sprays as well.

I will submit this canvas for the Anything goes challenge on Simon's Says Stamp blog.

Timeless Tuesday Challenge - create a shaped card

I have a card with a no-traditional shape for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge issued by Flourishes.
The floral image and the hummingbird are Flourish stamps. The sentiment is from a Papertrey set. I also stamped a frame ( a bit hidden under the flowers) with Waltzingmouse stamps. Due to the shape of the card,  I added a smaller nestabilities on the back with a message for a friend.

I coloured the images with Copic markers.
I really love how it turned out!

Mixed media canvas - painted cluster

I really love mixed media art and I love Paperartsy products and videos.
There is a new video on the Paper Artsy website that shows how to make a painted cluster.
Click HERE to see the video. I have also been on a Finnabair class last winter and I learned some of the techniques I used on this canvas.

I used small beads, buttons, air clay hearts and stars, brads and lace for the background. Then, I made a cluster with some die cut elements. I die cut the watch parts and cogs from plywood or foil tape (on a cardboard base). I used Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents, paints, Luminarte Primary Elements, embossing powders sprayed with shimmer mists while they were painted.
